April Magic

“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”

― F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

The trees did not sway, they were covered with different colors of flowers and seemed like a huge bouquet waiting to be given to a lover, if the lover had might enough to carry it forward with him towards his love that is. Light pink, mauve, orange and light yellow, surrounded the borders of every street, road and highway. It was the most wonderful sight. Each morning, the flowers laid a celestial carpet on the ground inviting the wanderer to walk through it in the hot sun; as if protecting the walker. I couldn't drive, or walk on it fearing I would damage them, scar them maybe; but they didn't care much I think. They were like the Summer Sunshine; happy, pleasant and gay; enjoying the Summer for which it was meant to be.

I was greeted by this sight every morning as I left for work. It was a welcome I looked forward to. April was indeed the most wonderful month of my life. Nature was fantastic and working with children was a blessing. Children are the most wonderful aspects of any nation, or space. They consume you completely, compel you to love and most of all take you into the wildest and most adventurous journeys of your life if you are willing. This is exactly what happened this Summer during our workshops.

In a gist: Children grow when you trust them to grow, they learn and take responsibility when you trust them to do the same. What they simply want from you is for you to be a guide to their dreams; for they do have the most wonderful dreams. It doesn't happen all the time; but one of these days, if you find time and your timing is right... your child will let you into a world you never knew existed. Don't tell them its false, don't analyze or judge, add anything with your experience or mock; just switch off whatever you are doing and listen. Go on that journey with them. These journeys are rare and invaluable; they beat going to Bahamas and Australia. If you are lucky, your child will take you, and you will hope never to come back again. This is my wish for every parent.

I am sharing some pictures from the workshops we have just completed. We have taken many more than this. We are not uploading all of it due to privacy reasons. If you are a parent and want the pictures of your child, please email info@dreamscopetheatre.com and we will send you the link to the private album immediately. Some are uploaded on our Facebook page as well...
